12/8 – Updates from BPBC

Blessings in and through our Lord and Savior Jesus. I hope this week has continued to be a blessed one, and with our past Sunday sermon in mind, you have been working toward discerning the “still, small voice of the Lord”.

I must readily admit that I am excited about the turn in direction of our sermons, as I mentioned last week. Prayerfully, as we move toward the end of 2017 and anticipate 2018, you are seeking more in excess and death regarding the knowledge of God and His working in your life. It’s looking to be a great season. To God be the glory.

Many of you know that I have been very actively lately with sharing thoughts regarding recovery, especially pertaining to the potential development of a Seafield in Blue Point. I covet your prayers and insights in those regards. This Saturday, 12/9, I will be participating in an all faiths/ non-denomination service at Our Lady of the Snow called “On the Wings of Hope”. This event is open to the public, and begins at 6:30PM. A few of us who serve in local clergy will be offering encouraging words and prayers for those who are battling or have battled addiction. There is a special part for families that lost someone due to addiction. You are more than welcome to join us.

As promised, here is our December 2017 monthly calendar. Simply click on the link, http://www.bluepointbiblechurch.org/peace/?page_id=11,  or click on “Monthly Calendar on our church website.

I look forward to seeing some, many, if not all of you this weekend.

In Service to Him,

Pastor Michael Miano

I pray that this week has kept you all blessed and flourishing in your knowledge of Him. I have 2 important announcements to share.

  • Also, our Harvest Dinner on Saturday, 12/4 was announced on Sunday. It the bulletin it noted 6pm as the start time. This is an error. The Harvest Dinner will begin at 5:30pm.

I look forward to seeing many, if not all, of you this weekend.

Pastor Mike Miano

Thansgiving Insight from Pastor Michael Miano

The Biblical understanding of God’s solution to the world’s ills, is that instead of causing us to obsess about life elsewhere or causing us to fantasize about life outside of the existence we already know (being human), the One True God breathes life into His creation by “renewing their minds” according to His truth and standard (i.e., conceptual realities)”.

11/17 – Weekly Updates & Resources from Pastor Mike

Blessings!

I must admit I am still riding out the joy and blessings I felt from the fellowship I had with many of you last week. From the square dancing to the awesome luncheon at Steve & Lisa’s! I surely consider myself a blessed man, a blessed pastor.

Before I share our corporate praises & prayers from Sunday, I do have some important announcements and some resources to share.

Tonight we have our Operation Christmas Child “Shoebox Packing Party” at 7:30pm at The Blue Point Bible Church. Thank you to all of you who have helped with gathering stuff, setting up, and of course those of you who will pack with us tonight!

The Fall Clean-up (PT. 2) that was scheduled for tomorrow, 11/18, is canceled! As well as Saturday Morning Bible Study. I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday for our Worship Service.

I have been engaging the views being brought up by Jason De Costa within the preterist community lately. I believe this provides opportunity for us at BPBC as well as others who endeavor to be serious & and diligent Bible students to better understand the Biblical narrative, and our place in it. So while I did not interview Jason as planned this past Tuesday on the Hairy Ticks Variety Show, I did share some preliminary details. Here is the link to the show –  https://tfcradio.org/tuesday-at-8pm/

Also this week, I continued a video series I have been doing called “A Full Preterist Speaks Up & Speaks Out (pt. 5)”. You can watch that video on YouTube at the following link, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-fauYpf9Xw

I look forward to seeing many of you tonight, and if not tonight, prayerfully Sunday.

Pastor Michael Miano

Prayerfully this weekly update finds you enjoying and prospering in His grace. Also, being mindfully of our #GrowAndGo from Sunday, prayerfully you have had ample opportunity through out the week to let your faith shine!

Some announcements and resources for this week are as follows. Tomorrow, Saturday, November 11th, which is also Veteran’s Day, we will only have a 1 hr Bible study from 9am-10am, and then will be going to the LI-CAN Listening Post at Bayport United Methodist. All are welcome to join us for this necessary component of fighting the opioid epidemic.

Also, I imagine many of you have seen the Operation Christmas Child information and “Needs List” that was made available. In the event that you have not, here is a link to find the information on our website –  http://www.bluepointbiblechurch.org/peace/?p=1300

Also, I am currently working on plans/goals and vision for 2018 at The Blue Point Bible Church. I covet your wisdom. What are some things you would like to see done, take place, or do at BPBC in 2018? One thing I will be working on is a simpler format for weekly updates. We will have a BPBC Weekly Update and a MGW Updates & Resources (which will provide links and resources that I compile through various ministry efforts during the week). Two podcasts I offered this week were the Hairy Ticks Variety Show which is on TFC Radio (www.tfcradio.org) on Tuesdays at 8pm, and the Chronicles of Josephus, which you can find on demand. Here are the direct links:

11/4 – A Praise & Prayerful Note from Pastor Mike, Along with Some Resources (The Blue Point Bible Church)

Blessings in Christ,

10/26 – Resources & Updates from Pastor Mike @ BPBC

Blessings in Christ,

Prayerfully each of you had a blessed week and are looking forward to the festivities that the end of October brings. I was sorry to miss you all this past week, however I heard good things about the sermon and service that Pastor Steve led. Glory to God!

While I do not have the list of weekly praises and prayers, I do have a couple of praises and prayers to share. I have been one with you all in Spirit all throughout the week lifting up the prayers of our congregation in my morning Common Prayers. Praises for all that God is doing through organizations and individuals on Long Island to fight against the heroin epidemic. Also, prayer requests for the Sietz family and for Raven. God knows the needs.

A couple of resources and announcements.

Due to the fact that Election Day is coming up, November 7th, I have begun thinking and talking through politics. I shared some thoughts on this weeks podcast of the Hairy Ticks Variety Show along with a blog. Here are the links:

Podcast – https://www.spreaker.com/user/10014082/10-24-2017

Blog – https://mianogonewild.wordpress.com/2017/10/25/where-are-the-politicians/

It’s looking to be a busy weekend at The Blue Point Bible Church as we have a film on Friday night at 7:30pm (Before I Fall based on the novel by Lauren Oliver). We will provide popcorn, bring your own beverages. All are invited!

Sunday, October 29th is the 5th Sunday of the month so we will have a potluck after our worship service. Surely this is one of the many Sundays you want to make sure you are present with us at BPBC.

Also, to keep the celebratory spirit going, I will make mention of our planning for our Halloween Harvest Day party that will be in the church parking lot on Tuesday, October 31st from 4pm-8pm. See attached flier for more information on that event.

I look forward to fellowshipping with each of you soon.

10/20 – Updates & Resources from Pastor Mike Miano (BPBC)

Blessings in Christ,

I surely hope that you had a blessed week and have made use of our vision of #GrowAndGo. Last Sunday

I challenged us to begin thinking about those whom we are responsible to in bringing a wholesome image of Jesus Christ and the Christian faith. May God give us ample opportunity to reach those He desires.

Tonight we are going “crabbing” at the Blue Point Docks with our XD Youth group. We plan to be go down there from 8:15 – 10:30pm. Also, of importance is that there will be no Saturday Morning Bible Study tomorrow since we have our annual BPBC Fall Cleanup at 7:30AM.

Through the various ministry efforts I am involved in I put together a good amount of resources this week. I have been going through the brackets in Wicked and detail the verses in short commentary style podcasts. This past week I detailed Mark 1:14-15 in regards to the Kingdom of God. Here is the link for that podcast, https://archive.org/details/Mark11415Wicked

Prayerfully you have been enjoying listening to TFC Radio (www.tfcradio.org), and most especially the Hairy Ticks Variety Show which I have the privilege to host. You can listen to this weeks show and catch the other shows you may have missed at the following link, https://tfcradio.org/tuesday-at-8pm/

On TFC Radio I have also been sharing 3-4 minute podcasts regarding the Chronicles of Josephus. You can listen to that clips at this link, https://tfcradio.org/chronicles-of-josephus/

I have continued to tell you all about the reforms happening in regards to Full Preterism, not only all over the nation, but  more excitedly right here on Long Island. To respond to some of the criticism and critiques I have begun doing weekly Facebook live sessions I am calling A Full Preterist Speaks up & Speaks Out. Here is a link to part 4, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucn_GnpPaSg

And lastly, we have begun 5Q Discipleship using Alan Hirsch’s book as a resource. We had our first meeting this past Tuesday and will have our next meeting, Tuesday, October 24th at 7:30PM. We all are called to be growing in our discipleship and therefore I strongly urge each of you to get involved with this meeting! You will surely be blessed.

Prayerfully some of you will consider joining us for the Fall Cleanup on Saturday morning, if not for crabbing tonight at 8:15pm.

May He continue to enrich you,

Pastor Michael Miano
