Blessings in Christ,
I hope that each of you had a good week, busy with the things of God and of course, enjoying the Summer season.
We have encouraged Summer book reading through all Suffolk libraries, “Color Our World” and we have Summer Bible Reading (more on that below).
We had canceled today’s Heart & Mind Bible Study and the Hymns at the Bay this evening due to limited expected involvement.
We will gather tomorrow, Sun., 7/20, for Adult Sunday School at 9am, Worship Service at 10:30am, and Breaking Bread & Gathering at 6pm.
Tomorrow is National Ice Cream Day and we encourage celebration. Join us for a time of tasting and seeing that the Lord is good, but also make plans to taste and see how good ice cream is as well. We will have a list of places that are offering discounts and deals. Perhaps in our evening session we will indulge in some ice cream, also.
A few resources for your edification;
This week I began bringing us through our Summer Bible Reading (particularly the Books of Kings) with anline teaching series titled “Give Us A King”. You can find links to watch and review the teachings, find commentary and other resources, at the following link, https://mianogonewild.wordpress.com/2025/07/19/give-us-a-king-online-teaching-series-through-kings/
Earlier today I was encouraged by reviewing a teaching by Pete Enns, a Bible scholar, regarding the proper way to understand the Bible. I might encourage you to check it out as well. Watch the teaching on YouTube at the following link, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHU6eIlhWOk
We have continued to pray for Meredith, Elder Steve’s mom, the little boy that Elder Steve lifted up for healing, those suffering in Texas, peace in the Middle East, and the US Government, and those experiencing unease and frustration in the USA. Travel mercies for the Mahr’s. We praise God for and for for our church fundraising efforts and for new faces around our assembly. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
I look forward to study, fellowship, and worship to be had tomorrow.
By & for His goodness & glory,
Pastor Michael Miano
