This past Sunday, Sept., 28th, 2025, Pastor Michael Miano preached a sermon about faith titled, “From The Ground Up”.
Here are some notes from the sermon.
“Believing in and having healthy engagement with the Church not only opens up opportunity for us to discern the wisdom of God, as I have previously said, but also is the very demonstration of our faith that God is looking for.”
“… I am convinced that the greatest glory to God is found in the “increase of His government”, the building up of His Church. And motivation in this regard seems to be lacking among Christians…”.
“The Church is truly the demonstration of ‘another world being possible’.
While many are content with pie-in-the-sky, many are not, and praise be to God many have and are continuing to discern that the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Kingdom of God, is to be on earth as it is in heaven, not in a future tense, not in a past tense, but in an everyday in Christ tense. It was Shane Claiborne in his book, The Irresistible Revolution who alluded to the fact that what the world needs is those who believe so much in another world being possible that they can’t help but live it out now. And as per Scripture, as per Jesus, this is to be made manifest through the Church.
“We the Church, from the ground up, are called to demonstrate His purpose by bringing heaven down.”
