This year truly showed us what means to move from ideas of help to actual help.

With the Pastoral Vision of Pastor Michael Miano at The Blue Point Bible Church as a foundation,”a Hub of HELP”, the church ministries of “The Attic Free Thrift” and “The Kitchen Table Food Ministry”, coupled with  community groups/organizations like Angels of Long Island, His Coalition For The Homeless, Harmony Cafe, and Hands Across Long Island.  Free thrift, including but not limited to clothing, household items, and toys, a free food pantry, hot coffee, many of times, a plate of food, free hyigene items, and mobile showers all take place on the corner of Blue Point Ave. & Maple St. in Blue Point, on Thursdays from 10:30am – 4pm. A clothing bin for item drop off is also available on the property. Donations of anything and everything, all conditions clothing, is encouraged.

Over the course of a year, since May 2025, at least 15-25 people a week come to “the hub” and receive free resources. The “Hub of HELP” also serves as a think-tank regarding community help, supporting and fostering other community initiatives, and hosting a place of community gathering to rest, find conversation, or obtain resources. Also, promotiing an environment of collaborative volunteerism and muitual aid.

The “Hub of HELP” has gained quite a bit of traction on social media, with the Facebook group at 525 members, the Instagram page at 208 followers, and the Tik Tik at 1,133 followers (some videos at 23,000 views). We continually ask people to spread the word in every way possible. With a committed few, the space at The Blue Point Bible Church, and continued community support and giving makes the future bright with opportunities of social service, social justice, having a presence and being available, programming, fellowship, and provisions.
